Championship Mindset

Understanding the difference between being a winner and being a champion can be hard at times. It is simple to remember though. Winners complain while champions have their minds set on the goal ahead. Read that one more time. Winners complain, while champions have their minds set on the goal ahead.

Winning isn't everything, which can be the lost in translation when having a championship mindset. People who have this want themselves and those around them to be great at all times. It doesn't start with winning a state cup or the league, it starts with the way that you think. How are you currently solving problems within your life that can set you up for what you want to achieve?

It is the offseason right now. Everyone is getting really comfortable. You have a break from school and training at the moment. You’ve been enjoying going to sleep late, scrolling through TikTok nonstop, and eating whatever is in the house. That break is most likely deserved, but understand that everyone is doing it. It makes it easier to participate in and be accepted. Fast forward to that first week of training and how your levels of fitness will have dropped significantly since the season has been over. Your touch is off and mentally you are still on break. We know that the complaints are going to begin about not wanting to go to training or having to get outside of your newly founded comfort zone. Instead of using this time to fully shutdown, think about how you can slightly improve yourself daily by getting in just a bit of work throughout this winter break.

A bit of progress will always be better than no progress. Our mindset has to be on par with our goals of our future. Enjoy the break with family and loved ones and of course yourself. Just do not lose sight of what you want for yourself in the future
